Mark Taylor qualified for …ACA & ACIS status whilst living in Australia and managing the Australian operation of LR Allen & Co Ltd. On his return to New Zealand he rejoined his old accounting firm of Kendon Mills Muldoon and Browne in 1969 and has been involved in public accounting ever since. In 1981 he sold his first practice and for a number of years worked in the Carpet business holding various positions in the business in both sales and finance. In 1987 the private clients had kept on growing to such an extent that he again set up practice first in St Heliers, then in Hopetown Street in Auckland City. The practice was relocated to Karaka in 1998 and rebranded as Karaka Accounting Services limited in 2002.
Mark offers a wealth of experiences in all areas of business through his long and varied careers.

Joanne Archer – Client Liaison – Business Services Contact...
Joanne began work for the ANZ Bank in 1981 and progressed through all types of work from Ledgers, telling, term deposits, foreign exchange and lending clerk at Otahuhu, Papakura and Head Office. After 8 years with the ANZ Joanne left to raise her children, during this time she undertook paid and volunteer work for Play Centre and Parents Centre.
Joanne was elected to the Board of Trustees at Pukeoware School and was chairperson for 6 years.
Joanne joined Mark Taylor in February 2000 as an administrator for the practice, she is responsible for the smooth running of the office, prepares GST returns, Companies Office Returns and payrolls for our clients as well as all returns and correspondence with IRD.
Joanne has trained with MYOB and Xero and supports our clients using desktop accounting software and the exciting “in the clouds” Xero software. Continuing to keep up-to-date with new developments in this area brings great variety to her working day.

Dennis Elmsly Contact
Dennis has 55 years in a variety of Accounting and Business roles.
He started his working life with the ANZ Bank, followed by Wilkins & Davies Construction Co Ltd while attending night school studying Accountancy.
Dennis moved into the manufacturing environment as Accountant/ Financial Controller. From here he moved to an Accounting Practice in South Auckland, running a satellite office, and later as the Office Manager. Upon the sale of that Practice, Dennis opened an office for a City Accounting Firm in South Auckland and ran this for 5 years.
Dennis had a change of scenery by working in the Automotive Industry as Financial Controller,for a company assembling, servicing and marketing Trucks. He was responsible to the local Director and overseas Owners. On the sale of this company he moved back to Chartered Accountancy.
Dennis over the years also had experience in Catering Operations part time.
He and his wife owned and operated their own business in the Retail Industry, they sold the business after 3 years and Dennis re-joined a Chartered Accounting Office.
He has retained a small block of clients who are now with Karaka Accounting Services Ltd.
